Qua’an Pan Local Governement AreaCreated in 1989 with a population of abour 180,000 persons, the Council covers an area of about 2,688 square kilometres and is situated at the southern part of Jos, the Plateau State capital. The Area is divided into eight districs of Bwal, Doemak, Dokan Kasuwa, Kwa, Kwalla, Kwande, Kwang and Namu. With Ba’ap as it’s headquarters. The people of the area (Qua’anpan), are predominantly farmers and also engage in other trades like, blacksmithing, metal works, hunting, trading and fishing. The main crops cultivated in commercial quantity include Yam, Cassava, Palm Oil, Shea Ground nut, Butter, Bambarram nut and Olive Oil. Mineral Resources the Local Government Area is endowed with include Gemstones, Tin and Columbite.Tourism Sloppy Hills that create natural scenic beauty, alongside the Pandam game reserve and the Lardang underground cave are some of the tourist attraction in the area.
